Corclair Signal
Turning health data into models, methods, and tools.
We develop data analysis methods, predictive models, and diagnostic software — and we work alongside clinicians and researchers who want to get more out of the data they already collect.
Three kinds of work, one approach
Health data is collected constantly and analyzed rarely. Our work begins with a practical question from clinical practice and ends with something usable — an analysis, a model, or software.
Data analysis and problem solving
Structuring, cleaning, and analyzing clinical and physiological datasets to answer a specific question.
Predictive modelling
Building and validating models for prediction and early risk detection, with honest reporting of how well they perform.
Diagnostic and decision-support software
Turning validated methods into software that fits into the way clinicians already work.
Cardiovascular data first, methods that generalize
Our current work centres on cardiovascular data, where large volumes of physiological measurement are recorded during routine care. The methods we develop are not limited to one organ system or one type of measurement.
Everything we build is designed to support clinical judgment, not to replace it.
Where we come from
Corclair Signal is a research company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It grew out of graduate research in biomedical engineering, from a simple observation: hospitals record large amounts of physiological data during routine care, and most of it is never analyzed once the procedure ends.
The company is incorporated in Manitoba and works with clinicians and researchers on analysis, model development, and software.
Three words, three meanings
Cor
Latin for heart — the root behind cordial and cardiac. It marks where the work began: cardiovascular data.
Clair
Clear and bright, in French. Clarity is the purpose: turning a noisy measurement into an answer someone can act on.
Signal
The same word in English and in French. It names what we work with — measurement recorded over time, and the information held inside it.
Read together, cor and clair give cœur clair — a clear heart.
For clinicians and researchers with data and a question
If you have a dataset and a question you have not had time to answer, we would like to hear about it. We work with physicians, research groups, and institutions on analysis, model development, and prototyping new tools.
